Klean Industries Inc (“Klean”), a company focusing on the recovery of clean energy and resources from waste, is pleased to announce that it is in the process of finalizing some essential partnerships that are synergistic in the adoption of distributed hydrogen production and dispensing for use in the transportation and logistics sector across the Pacific Northwest. These partnerships provide the demand for the much-needed infrastructure for hydrogen mobility, creating a faster adoption cycle in the logistics and transportation industry to use hydrogen as a fuel in the mobility sector that compliments the use of hydrogen in waste management and recycling. As a continued commitment to stakeholders, the company seeks to create integrated solutions that further reinforce the development of a low-carbon circular economy, and using hydrogen as fuel within the company’s waste management supply chain underpins the company’s ethos of building clean industries.

Key partners in this consortium will be announced in Q2 and Q3 of 2023. Klean anticipates that these partnerships will provide a foundation for helping supply and distribute green hydrogen to several hydrogen dispensing stations along the purpose-built hydrogen highway from British Columbia to California.

While the concept of a hydrogen highway from British Columbia to California is not new, it has struggled to gain traction and is still in the early stages of development. This is due in part to the availability of cost-effective hydrogen and the slow adoption of automotive technologies used in Fuel Cell Electric Vehicles (“FCEV”) and Battery Electric Vehicles (“BEV”). This has now all changed, and Klean sees an opportunity to combine its efforts to build the infrastructure alongside its waste management applications to support hydrogen production as a fuel source. The idea behind the hydrogen highway is to create a comprehensive system for refueling both FCEV and BEV, like the existing networks of gasoline stations and Tesla electric charging stations”, said Jesse Klinkhamer, CEO of Klean Industries. 

Klean is actively sourcing new locations to add to its hydrogen project pipeline.
